Baby boomers have been the subject of intense criticism especially by the news media for years. I never quiet understood

"Life is a precious gift from God that should be lived to its fullest every single day".

Unfortunately we can't predict tomorrow. You can look at life as " the glass being half full, or half empty." To me its half full. If you will read in the about me section you will understand why. We all live with adversities at some point in our lives. Just don't let them get you down. Since I have spent my life being brutally honest, I see no reason to change now. If you see a blue underlined text link, click on it. I will present many things. Some will be important resource links, others will be just for fun links that I think my boomer pals might enjoy. Ocassionally you will see a link to an affiliate site where I hope you will look over. Who knows, you may even decide to make a purchase. One thing that I did about four years ago, was refinance my home for the balance. Practically everthing I read on boomers retiring indicates that for the majority of baby boomers, their home will be one of the primary sources of retirement income. If that is part of your plan, you need to put all of the money possible into principal reduction of your home. That is what I am doing now. I make up to three extra principal payments a month. Thus, the main inspiration for my creating this website. I want this to be a positive experience for YOU and me. We can do nothing about the aging process, but we can sure enjoy the ride. This is a neat website that I use frequently. Maybe some of you will enjoy it.

There has been a trend in this country when you get to be 60-65 years old that no matter how good you feel, its time to start acting old. I am referring to our parents primarily who have inherited the name SENIOR CITIZENS. Most of them don't like the title but true to their character, very few make a big fuss about it.

Don't count on the same from the baby boomers. I despise the way older people are treated in this country, especially by the news media, medical community and our own government. If we allow it, the same thing will happen to the BABY BOOMERS. Look I know we have cultural, religious and political differences, but this is not about any of those. This is about DIGNITY something every human being deserves. As a voting block and just by our shear size, we still have the ability to change things and we may be called upon to do just that again. Below are some baby boomers from various industry groups that will be turning 60 years old this year. Some well known people who are also among the baby boomer 60 year old's in 2006 are First Lady Laura Bush, Steven Spielberg and Dolly Parton.

One way to know when you turn 50 years old, besides the "birthday party" of course, is you will be blasted with mail from AARP and other organizations about retirement, how to invest your money and so forth.

But when you turn 60 it changes. Oh you still get blasted with mail from AARP and other organizations but the tone kinda changes. Now its about, funeral arrangements, you get tickets inviting you to seminars on how to make out your will, trusts, retirement homes, assisted living homes etc. If it has anything to do with dying you will receive it. I don't mind a little advice but I don't like being depressed. AARP has sent me enough mail over the years to grow a small forest. The answer is still the same. I AM NOT GOING TO JOIN! I also am not going to buy products join clubs or spend any money with anyone that refers to me as a senior citizen. As a matter of fact I don't even read their mail and advertisements.

From all I have read, healthcare is one of the big concerns of baby boomers, along with boomers retirement and social security. I really had hoped that social security would be reformed but there just doesn't seem to be the political will to do it. What congress doesn't tell the American people is prior to 1983, congress, all federal employees and even the military didn't pay a dime into social security. Many people are uncomfortable being put into the Baby Boomer Group because of the way that we have been sterotyped as being just a bunch of 60's era radicals, please don't be because that stigma is not true and I will prove it as we go along. Just remember that we have the strength in numbers. Almost 80 million people is a force to be reckoned with. Who knows we might just get bored and have another "Revolution". Just kidding or am I!

There seems to be a fear that the baby boomers aren't going to go into retirement and old age quietly. Also, there seems to be a lot of head scratching going on about how to market to this group of people, these baby boomers. My own personal advice would be to market to us like you did before we turned 60. Just remember starting at age 60 you need to subtract 20 years, so at 60, we are actually 40. What ever the age of a baby boomer you market to them as if they were 20 years younger than their actual age.
