Above are photos of my wife and our lovely grand kids spending the weekend on our boat,the "Southern Cross. This place and the beautiful white beaches in the background is situated in one of the most beautiful places in America, our home on the Florida, Gulf Coast.. You may have noticed through out this website I have emphasized one thing no matter what your situation. To live every day of your life to its fullest. I am sure there are many of you that are unemployed, homeless, and other dire situations in your life that are saying, Yeah! that is easy for you to say, you have an expensive boat, probably live in a beautiful home and have money. To a certain extent that may be true but just remember one thing. Things are not always as they are perceived on the surface!! I can also promise you that we worked for every dime of it.

Twenty-three years ago, due to an accident while working in the middle east, my life was forever changed. After enduring the agony of multiple back surgeries, all of which have failed, my life has become a nightmare of chronic pain. Three years ago I found out that due to some of the earlier spinal injections and the contrast medicines they used, the nerves in my spinal chord had been burned, actually melted together. This process has gotten worse over the years and there is nothing medically that can be done about it. The medical term is called Adhesive Erocdonoties . I have no words to describe to you the levels of pain I live with day after day and will the rest of my life, even taking powerful medication. Some days are harder than others and I had to come to terms with it a few years ago. Live my life and enjoy it or leave it. I am sorry to have to put it that way but it's the truth. Fortunately " My Lord" stepped in and I have to talk to him daily.

I guess I just refuse to give up on the precious gift of life, and enjoying it the best that I can. I have come a long way from the fields of a rural America farm life, to be educated, always blessed with good jobs because of my education and to have traveled to places that many people only dream about. So as I have said a couple of times before. To me, "the glass is always half full".

I got into research over fifteen years ago because of my technical skills with the computer and my love of history, which I have had all of my life. With those two combined techniques I can become lost in researching anything from American, Middle-eastern, Asian, and Russian history, to researching the price of a product on the internet. I started researching the World wars, conflicts, and the so-called police actions, include my generation, the baby boomers. It is a fascinating topic and one that is not going away any time soon. Baby boomer trends show that boomers will be doing many things, from full retirement, to continuing work. Some will pursue other careers, go into business for themselves, combine work with leisure, travel in many forms and take up things they are "passionate about". Others will down size from the homes they have to smaller homes and travel. One of my own dreams is to buy an RV and see some of the beautiful back road scenery this "great country" has to offer. I just hope that my medical condition will allow us to do it. Of course, not all baby boomers are even close to being old enough to retire, so they will continue working and raising their families. For those that are afraid of the word retirement, Please first of all, it is what you work all of your life to be able to do, or at least that is the way I look at it. Hey it's a new adventure. My wife can hardly wait until her last day of work, at least working for someone else. This next transition in your life should be an adventure and this is just the next step. As for as me, I am looking forward to buying that RV and doing some exploring. HOW ABOUT YOU?
