Baby Boomers healthcare issues

Baby boomers healthcare is at the top of the list of concerns looking to the future and retirement. It seems that every year the cost of good health insurance continues upward, while the benefits go down. I have spent so much of the past 23 years going to doctors, having painful testing, and more painful surgeries I feel I can speak with some authority on this subject. You should bookmark this health site if you don't have it already. Mine will be a different perspective, from the other end of the knife. We have wonderful high-tech medical facilities in this country and others. Some of the medicines and medical procedures that are being done in today's world are miraculous. sadly, some of them do you more harm than good. I fall into the that catagory.

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on." Robert Frost

If you are contemplateing surgery and want to watch it live, this is the place. If you have a weak stomach then I wouldn't advise it. I watch them all of the time especially spinal surgery. I guess I keep hoping for a medical procedure that will help me. PAINenz® Buy 2 bottles get the 3rd FREE

Most of the physicians, and medical staff are good at what they do, and are ethical, but not all. The focus now is to much on getting the patient in, getting them out as fast as possible and on to the next one. Free Medical Supplies

Once again I will repeat something that I may have said earlier. This country the most advanced country in the world, does a better job of making the aging population seem more irrelevant than any other culture in the world. Why, I will never understand. I don't care what the age group, when you start taking away peoples' personal Dignity, you might as well just go ahead and nail the final nail for them.

Sadly, most of our parents, the seniors, believe every thing they see on TV or read in the newspapers. As a researcher I spend hours and hours researching topics like this and reading the negatives about what a burden the older generation is on society, now of course its the aging baby boomers. You are hearing plenty about the baby boomers and the effect they are going to have on healthcare and social security. Hello out there in media land. You have to be at least 62 to even apply for social security and medicare is 65 so the baby boomers aren't a drag on the economy. We are the the economy. I think that one of the things that sets us apart from seniors is most of us in the boomer generation could care less about what Washington D.C. and the news media think. I can promise you I don't. I personally am not under the assumption that I am going to live forever. I am going to live my life to its fullest every single day that I do have left. If my wife wants to go out and get a botox injection, or a little nip or tuck here and there, big deal as for as I am concerned. She actually don't need one yet. I am being a little light hearted; my wife would use another word for it. It's not nice so I want say it. My point is, if you want to have something done that will make you feel better about yourself and you can afford it then GO FOR IT, that goes for men as well as women.

Many men color their hair, some color their beards also. I never colored my hair, but I was coloring my beard before it was fashionable to do so. Today I still have a head full of hair and my beard. The only difference is they are both completely silver. I actually get a lot of compliments on my hair and beard, but if I decided to dye it red, black or what ever color, I would do just that. Its just the way I am.

Affordable healthcare is one of the major concerns when it comes to baby boomers retiring. It is also one of the main reasons that many boomers will keep working after 62-65 or even longer. You can compare all types of insurance quotes here, from auto to healthcare..

Maybe if we could get out of the nation building business long enough and some brave congressmen could stay away from the lobbyists long enough to take on some of the serious issues

confronting our country, affordable healthcare should be at the top of the list. boomers healthcare

That is not going to happen until we get together as a group and demand that congress do something about it. Let me remind you once again, that no I am not some ex-hippie with a liberal agenda. I have voted conservative all of my life and I am a Viet Nam Veteran. At this point I'm not sure that you could consider me either. I am just a fed up, frustrated American.

Due to an accident that I described in the about me section of this site, I don't know what I would have done if it were not for the insurance my wife has through a major corporation she has worked at for the past 22 years. After 23 years of surgeries, expensive tests, and medication that I will be taking the rest of my life. I have certainly made good use of that policy. Even after she retires her present insurance will revert to supplemental insurance, and they have a fantastic drug program that will continue. In that aspect, we are truly blessed. I just wish that everyone who has worked all of his or her life could have that kind of coverage, especially the drug coverage. It is hard to believe that anyone could be turned away from a medical facility because they do not have health insurance, especially in the richest most advanced country in the world, but it happens.

Even if you have good insurance that is not the end of your problems when it comes to healthcare. I will try to contain my emotions on this one but don't hold me to it. The next obstacle you will run into is the medical industry itself. Yes, I am talking about the primary care doctors, surgeons and other specialists, nurses, staff, and the hospitals. If I could offer you any advice it would be find you a good Primary Care Doctor. I don't care how many you have to wade through to find the right one. How much do you know about your Doctor? When you find a primary care physician that you like and feel he has your medical interest first, be honest with him or her, let them get to know you and start to establish a long term relationship with them. Perhaps most important do not abuse their trust. eHealthInsurance - FREE Instant Quotes!

I am not advocating that every person who walks into a physician's office should receive pain medication just because they ask for it, but when an individual is in pain, whether acute or chronic, it is the treating physicians duty to help that person. I am sure that many of you have experienced the same situations I am referring to. It is actually against Federal Law for a physician not to give you proper treatment if you are in pain. Now, how you would go about enforcing it, I have no idea. Therapedic CS Heat Reflective Insoles: Buy 1, get a 2nd at 50% off

Having spent 23 years of my life going from one surgeon to another, under going painful tests, and even more painful surgeries, I sit here to day in far worse shape than I was because of the accident. I will be the first to admit that we have made great medical advances in this country and I know a lot of baby boomers out there are doctors, and probably don't like what I am saying but its true. I have lived it. There is no reason for anyone to arrive on time for an appointment, only to spend an hour sitting in the waiting room. Most baby boomers my age know why this happened. Its because you and about 5 other people had the same appointment time. Its about money first and health care last.

To me, the medical profession is just as much about providing a service and getting paid for it as getting your auto worked on and paying the bill for it. At least on an auto you can get an estimate of the repair cost before they do the work. Has anyone ever tried to find out the cost of a medical procedure in advance. They look at you like it "is none of your business".

Because of the vast size of our generation so will the amount of baby boomers health care issues be. It will be up to each individual person how he or she handles these issues. As for me, I am a very kind, compassionate and caring person. I have always tried to treat everyone with respect, and I demand the same in return. If not I rebel. I always have and I always will.
